Just watched this on the National Film Board of Canada site where they have about 300 of their material presented for your enjoyment. Having previously viewed and commented on a couple of shorts associated with animator Ryan Larkin, I was excited when Street Musique was presented on the NFB site twice in both French and English title form (otherwise, it's the same film). Starting with black-and-white live-action of a fiddle player and a mandolin player performing on a downtown sidewalk, Larkin then does abstract line drawings on white that become images that are very hard to describe. He then does some watercolor (at least that's what I think it is) images that are likewise. All this is done to the music of those two players that matches the drawings perfectly. Nothing else to say except for anyone who loves abstract animation, I highly recommend Ryan Larkin's Street Musique.

Parodying popular lectures at the same time, it contains a message about the superiority of the products of living organisms’ techniques and calls for respect for the environment.

The story “Alice in Wonderland” is used as a metaphor about the dangers of accidental drug use among children. Curious Alice’s trip to Wonderland is not through the rabbit hole, but rather through her home, where the medicine and kitchen cabinets hold substances of lure but danger. After ingesting one of these substances, Alice, now in the Wonderland of her mind, has an altered sense of reality. In her new psychedelic world, she is exposed to more and more drugs, which she may take based on her impaired judgment from the initial drug use.

With Lenny Bruce doing all the voices, this animation of a Bruce routine begins with local folks upset at the Lone Ranger because he won't stay around to be thanked after a good deed. So, he stays and finds he likes hearing "Thank you mask man." When their attention starts to shift elsewhere, he shocks and disgusts the townspeople with a final request.

This was the second of the Russian Winnie the Pooh series. This one had Pooh and Piglet visiting Rabbit for a meal with honey. Pooh and Piglet eat lots of the stuff. So much of it that Pooh can't get out of the hole of the Rabbit's tree house. Rabbit and Piglet pull on Pooh's arms at the entrance so hard the tree falls down! As Rabbit ponders what happened to his home, Pooh and Piglet walk and sing as the cartoon ends. Another charming Pooh story interpreted by the former Soviet Union. Disney had previously done this as Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree.
