Bingo的灵感取材于一次戏剧表演.有一出名为Disregard This Play的演出,讲的是一个人如何被多个人的催逼,以至于自己误认为自己是一个名叫Bingo的小丑。动画中用超现实主义的色彩表现了心理的变化。
作品选取了维瓦尔第(Vivaldi)的《四季》交响曲作为配乐,基于此构成影片中所串联出的四大组合段落,并点出每一个段落所传达出的不同生命特质。在影片中,保罗•德里森运用了“分屏美学”,将八个屏幕上中下依次排成三列,每个屏幕传达的事件皆与季节有关。这些季节全与适宜的色彩所搭配:青和灰色为春季,蓝和灰色为夏季,黄和灰色为秋季,红和灰色为冬季,借着“分屏”来叙述情节,这也是德里森首创的动画表现形式,故事中的影像充满着诗意,传达出生命的美好与无奈。

Reel #5 of (...) is composed of scratch-imagery edited to music by James Tenney. The music starts accompanied only by black leader: then there is a sudden flare of pure white which begins to flicker with negative-colored ephemeral shapes, until finally the music and a fulsome mass of scratched images are accompanying each other. At times a distinctly different quality of colored image appears and continues for awhile (non-orange negative photography of painted film as well as picture images).

Adam tells us the story of an older cousin, who had cerebral palsy. Adam would go over to play, and they'd dress as superheroes, jump off the shed, and run about the the street with an old shopping trolley. Adam explains his cousin's wayward left arm, his strong right one, his aunt's understanding of her son's rages ("bake a cake," she'd tell him), and the boy's love of swimming. On Adam's eighth birthday, the cousins are separated by tragedy; it's left to Adam to wonder about his cousin, and if he still smells of licorice.
"4-Day Weekend" is a song by English indie rock band The Bluetones, released as the fourth and final single in 1998 from their second album, Return to the Last Chance Saloon. The single was available by mail-order only, hence it did not chart, but it was subsequently included on the band's 2006 compilation A Rough Outline: The Singles & B-Sides 95 - 03. The music video is in an anime style, the production of which was supervised by Japanese anime director Kōji Morimoto, and animated by Studio 4°C. It was included as multimedia content on its original CD release.
